Bark collars are glorious, the electric fence is a must for our dogs

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love my dogs. They just constantly shoot me with love darts from their eyes. All I have to do is feed them once a day in the morning (yes, I only feed my dogs one time a day and they are just the right weight or labradors) and I take them on a walk... that’s it. Those two things and to them I’m amazing.

With that one walk that I do take them on each day, it’s not a consistent time as I take them when it works in my day. Typically it’s sometime before noon. They look at me in anticipation through the glass doors all morning and until it’s time to go. They would bark at me and that would drive me crazy. If there’s something that I cannot stand, it’s dog barking. I do not want to feel like I live in a kennel. Enter the bark collar.

Why on earth did we wait so long for this glorious device to enter our home? This Amazon purchase that wasn’t expensive. Is a game changer. The sound of dogs barking at me is something that can change my mood. I can go from being happy and productive in our home to getting annoyed with dogs that won’t stop barking at me.

Now our dogs already wear collars for our electric fence. That is another glorious item. We have a wire that runs our entire property so that our dogs will not leave it. This was also a purchase that made no sense to wait. If you have a dog just install one of these, like a must. We have spent so much time looking for our dogs after they went on what we would call a self-walk. We even had a dog we were newlyweds that would go on so many self-walks and then get picked up by animal control that we had to pay bail three times which cost us more than our electric fence system and cost us hours upon hours of our time.

Its too hard to have three labs on the property and no front fence. It is necessary so that our dogs not only don’t run away or go into the street, but it makes our neighbors feel better when they walk by and our dogs won’t run at them. I will say this isn’t 100% proof. The only times that we’ve had a hiccup in the system though are the dogs have had a bath and whoever bathed them forgot to put the color back on or his collars ran out of batteries. Yes, it is a battery run system with rechargeable batteries. Periodically you do need to plug them in overnight and allow them to charge. This is very easy however, it is also easy to overlook.

So what is the life hack for remembering to charge your devices? You’ve got it add it as a calendar item in your iPhone. Once a month, your phone will alert you to charge those batteries before you go to bed. That’s it!

We live in a time where it seems like someone has thought of everything. These devices make life so enjoyable, and they do not break the bank. I’ve lived life without them, and that made for unnecessary stressors that these devices fixed. I certainly have been there, and I do know this.
