Certainly my most favorite Halloween decoration that adds the most to my home is the easiest one to store. BATS!

I cut these bats out of construction paper probably 15 years ago and still to this day, I am using the same bats. The bats that go up our staircase on both sides of our home have a huge visual impact and when I take them down, they all fit in a 1 gallon Ziploc bag. 15 years ago, we didn’t have Amazon, but now you can buy these that’s already cut out for just a few dollars. I like these ones because they are larger.
I will put a link here:

Here’s the tip with the bats. Use the blue painters tape to stick them to the wall. You simply take a piece of the blue tape, the painters tape and fold it up and stick it to the back. That way you will not see it and when you take it off the wall, it won’t leave any residue and it won’t take the paint off.

One of the biggest things that I have learned about my holiday decor is to choose wisely and think about how you will store it before you buy it. You know I love the holidays like no other, but the amount of accumulated the decorations is crazy. A tip I think is so important when decorating for the holidays, is to use pillow covers instead of buying actual pillows. Not only can pillow covers be used, but I picked up these chair covers from the dollar tree. Amazon also has tons of inexpensive pillow covers for every holiday. This way you can cover your pillows in a decorative cover, but when you’re done with the holiday, it will fold up very small also into a gallon Ziploc bag.

I also like to think about reusing things when it comes to things like holiday decor. Simple white sheets that are old are I don't want to use anymore, instead of throwing them away I have made them into ghosts that we hang from the trees. These were really easy to make out of old milk, cartons, and old sheets. I also simply got glued these dollar tree bats to a sculpture I already had to make a Medusa looking sculpture. These also store in a gallon ziplock.

Don’t get me wrong. I certainly have a lot of things to store for the Halloween, but my recommendation to you is to just keep in mind when you’re buying the skeletons, and all the things, that for the other 11 months out of the year, those are going to be sitting somewhere in a bin in your garage. So choose cool things but make sure they can fold up into a small package. I certainly know a thing or two about a lot of Halloween decor storage, I might have been there. I might have done that.
