Setting the Halloween table and incorporating real with fake to make Halloween magic

So Halloween is almost here, and you might be trying to think of ways to spruce up or change your Halloween table before guests come over. Here’s a quick post on ways to mix it up to incorporate things that you already have, things that you can get out of nature, and then things you can get from the dollar tree.

So I’ve changed out the holiday decor for my dining room table a couple times. As decorations are added or crafts are made I’ve tried to make the tablescape, festive and memorable.

Here are some examples of ways that you can decorate without breaking the bank:

The pirate table

This theme was fun to do as I purchased schools for a dollar and spray-painted them black. Then I allowed my kids and friends to decorate the skulls for a fun craft at each of the tables, I placed a charger that I’ve already had and use for different holidays a along with a paper plate that was Halloween themed and the skull on top. Then For the center I used some treasure chests filled with costume jewelry we already had. Placing candelabras that I use for different holidays as well. I made them creepy with just some spiderwebs. Using more dollar store flowers to create a Dia de los Martos type look as if we were remembering the lives of these dead skulls.

A fun element we added in, certainly added a very creepy factor. Where we live in Southern California occasionally we do get a rattlesnake my husband, being a hunter will kill the snake, as we don’t want our children or animals to be injured rather than just wasting the beautiful skin , he has skin snakes and I have save them for my holiday decor. They are creepy.

Placing a strobe light under the table, certainly adds another layer to finish the table skate off

Here are other more simple ways to decorate your holiday table. Again, just using pumpkins and decor that you’ve already had to mix it up to get a final without breaking the bank.

For example, the boo blocks were ones that I made myself by just adding some spray paint to some cut off wood along with white letters that spelled out Boo.

Think outside the box sometimes to make a little trash into treasure, especially for holiday decor that’s only up for a short time during the year. I might’ve been there and I do know that.

Mama
