Valentine's day- Orchids the best flowers to give

When it comes to giving someone flowers for Valentine’s Day my go-to is an orchid. The reason why I love orchids so much is for how long they last let alone the beauty they add to your home.

The best place to purchase Orchids or Trader Joe’s. For $14.99 you get a beautiful flowering plant that will last for weeks, if not months as well as a pretty pot that it comes in.

Watering: You will see in the photo above but the best way to water the orchid if you have one as with ice cubes. Ice cubes are fantastic for watering plants as it is a slow release of water as it takes time for the ice to melt and the plant is able to absorb more of that water rather than the water going straight through to the bottom of the plant.

Back to the Valentine's flowers, cut flowers are beautiful too do not get me wrong. I love roses and peonies and all of the many assortment of flowers, but if you’re only going to give someone one thing of flowers might as well give them something that is going to continue to fill their house with Joy rather than just die after a few days.

This is just my two cents on what I request from my husband for Valentine’s Day. I love when he brings me flowers that I can plant in the yard that will continue to grow or a beautiful orchid that will make me happy for much longer than cut flowers. This is not only my opinion as I have many friends and women that feel the same. We might’ve been there, we do know that.
